First Year Boats First years will find themselves being led by Hagrid to the edge of the lake. There you will find that there are just enough oar-less boats for the students to climb into three at a time. Once everybody has found a seat within a boat Hagrid will tap his umbrella against the boat he is in and the fleet will set sail for Hogwarts.

The Carriages About a hundred carriages wait for arriving Hogwarts students along a rough, muddy road near the Hogsmeade Station. At first glance it seems that the carriages are horseless, however they are in fact drawn by Thestrals which can only be seen by people who have witnessed a death. Hurry and climb in so that you can make your way to the castle before the feast starts!
